--- Quote from: JVJ on August 21, 2012, 09:47:49 PM ---Most assuredly. Same publisher, Trojan; same editor, Adolphe Barreaux; same characters and same bunch of artists (primarily). Much of the Wally Wood material that appears in Western Crime Busters first appeared in the pulps. For a real in-depth discussion of this, see Illustration Magazine #35 - the article on Joseph Szokoli.
But I don't think that Conde Nast was the publisher of Spicy Mysteries (or at least not of the Pulp from which the Sally stories were reprinted).

Thanks, Jim. I knew it could have been coincidence but I thought it would be worth asking about. I know I've read somewhere that Conde Nast published all of the "Spicy" pulps, but that was in a tome about the Pulps which had a high ratio of reprinted illustrations to a low ratio of text which I read around thirty years in the main library at the University of Wyoming. They had other book on comics history which were riddled with errors so I'm not shocked that the information was flawed. Not to find out the truth about both things.
