Defiant1:
This is another excellent resource if you can find scans of it. My copy is stained from someone using it as a coaster.

Defiant1:
There are full scans of the 1973 first printing of this publication online.
The 1st printing has a color cover.
I own the 'revised' 1976 2nd printing with a B&W cover.
It includes a published version of the comics code inside.

The Ghost Man:
Thanks Defiant1 (great username!) I've already got The Comic Book Guide for the Artist-Writer-Letterer in the TVIA Library. I've tried mightily to find Comic Book Illustrators Instruction Course to no avail and want that one badly. Secrets Behind the Comics, I thought I had tried to secure before, however I'll try again and see if I can track that one down.

I do appreciate your replies and if you discover any others, I'd be much obliged if you'd send any my way.

If I think of any, I'll let you know.

Print Magazine (2 issues) from 1942 had some articles by Max Gaines which may have some invaluable reference material. One features the history of comics and it starts with cave man drawings. One publishes the cover to Wonder Woman #1 before the comic came out. The articles were reprinted in Narrative Illustration: The Story of the Comics and  Good Triumphs Over Evil! -- More About the Comics which were distributed to libraries. All are pretty rare and scans might be difficult to locate.

I own a slipcase with 4 issues of Print Magazine. It includes the two with articles by Max Gaines. Print Magazine was a trade publication spotlighting the capabilities of printing at the time. One of the magazines has one or two comic stories bound inside.

Defiant1:
Jim Shooter's "How To Create Comics" Seminar has some of the content on his blog. It's only web based. There is no print version.

Here he breaks down why Kirby was so effective as a storyteller...
