Greetings and Happy New Year to all,
I'm just reaching out to the DCM community here to request any vintage art, cartooning or illustration instructional books or media that are available as PDFs or JPG's that I can turn into PDFs. For those who may not know, I host a blogsite called The Vintage Inkwell Academy (TVIA) at https://tvia.ingenuityserials.com that offers free traditional art training resources for artists, writers and vintage content producers. I currently have nearly 100 rare or otherwise exceptional instructional PDF's in the TVIA Library and am always scouting for more to keep building a fully comprehensive library.

My goal is to curate as many of these vanishing educational resources as I can find and make them available free of cost to all with zero strings attached. I personally use them in my artistic training and can verify that these are the genuine article that produce tangible results. I add more as I locate them and have 8 new ones I just discovered that I'm uploading this weekend. I check each one for visual quality and instructional value to ensure I'm hosting the best resources to create the best artistic content creators.

So please share any of these vintage books you may have that have been digitised into PDF's. I would be most appreciative and would be happy to give credit for the share if the donor requests it, or write a simple exceptional gratitude to those who prefer anonymity.

Thank you sincerely in advance for both your attention and support.

Greetings Yoc, sorry no I'm not on FB, Twitter nor Instagram. Just a personal preference as I'm not a fan of their egregiously  intrusive personal data harvesting business model.

Oh I agree.  DCM has an account I use for updates.
I've seen the odd thing there that might fit your Inkwell project.
I'll just share them here when they come up.

If you can find a full scan of this, it might provide some reference info.
Only one course book was ever created despite the back cover advertising more.
This copy has bug damage.

This is another excellent resource if you can find scans of it. My copy is stained from someone using it as a coaster.

There are full scans of the 1973 first printing of this publication online.
The 1st printing has a color cover.
I own the 'revised' 1976 2nd printing with a B&W cover.
It includes a published version of the comics code inside.

Thanks Defiant1 (great username!) I've already got The Comic Book Guide for the Artist-Writer-Letterer in the TVIA Library. I've tried mightily to find Comic Book Illustrators Instruction Course to no avail and want that one badly. Secrets Behind the Comics, I thought I had tried to secure before, however I'll try again and see if I can track that one down.

I do appreciate your replies and if you discover any others, I'd be much obliged if you'd send any my way.

If I think of any, I'll let you know.

Print Magazine (2 issues) from 1942 had some articles by Max Gaines which may have some invaluable reference material. One features the history of comics and it starts with cave man drawings. One publishes the cover to Wonder Woman #1 before the comic came out. The articles were reprinted in Narrative Illustration: The Story of the Comics and  Good Triumphs Over Evil! -- More About the Comics which were distributed to libraries. All are pretty rare and scans might be difficult to locate.

I own a slipcase with 4 issues of Print Magazine. It includes the two with articles by Max Gaines. Print Magazine was a trade publication spotlighting the capabilities of printing at the time. One of the magazines has one or two comic stories bound inside.

Jim Shooter's "How To Create Comics" Seminar has some of the content on his blog. It's only web based. There is no print version.

Here he breaks down why Kirby was so effective as a storyteller...
