Books about Golden Age Villains

Anyone out there in DCM land know of any good books with encyclopedic information on comic book villains from the Golden Age? 

I just read The Legion of Regrettable Super Villains by Jon Morris, and while it was entertaining and similar to what I'm looking for - it deliberately focuses on the goofier villains from the period.  I'm looking for similar books that: (a) Approach the subject matter just a bit more seriously, and (b) Don't focus exclusively on DC & Marvel (as we all know, there were a lot of other publishers cranking out interesting stuff at that time).

Sorry, I don't know of any Villains centric books or blog that aren't Marvel/DC focused.

Not limited to the Golden Age, there was Jeff Rovin’s The Encyclopedia of Super Villains published in 1987. Worth having if you can find a copy.

From what I remember about that book (and the corresponding Super Hero one), they were fairly decent, other than what struck me as an odd obsession with the 70's Atlas line that came and went so quickly.  Of course, I now know that Rovin worked on that line extensively and it makes more sense.  The rest of the books are still worth the price of admission; and it's not like the Atlas info is bad... just odd.
