Comic Story (12 pages) The Timid Menace
Featuring: Funnyman
Synopsis: An impish, red-suited alien named Timidio from the Planet Dearth, lands in Empire City, and explains to a crowd that he is there to take control of the Earth. Not taking him seriously, news reporter Smelles takes him to his editor and Timidio immediately becomes a headline sensation. When the alien causes an intense lightning storm, Funnyman arrives on the scene, and is taken by the alien to Planet Dearth, where he is taken to the Council, where Funnyman proclaims his idiotic Earthling Manifesto. The Council is so startled by it that they send Funnyman home and give up invasion plans.

Synopsis: A new mob headed by Giggles Cain plans to rub out Funnyman in order to ensure the success of their proposed rackets, and they succeed in wounding the Silly Sleuth, who then takes his Trix-Cycle home to Funnymanor. The gang follows him, but becomes frustrated at the funhouse enviornment inside, and are soon captured and marched to the nearby Police precinct.

Synopsis: Doc Gimmick and baseball player Johnson bust out of prison with the help of doc's sky-piercing invention, and they arrive at a carnival where Funnyman appears as a ball-toss target. Johnson attempts to use an explosive hardball on the Laughing Lad, and does, eventually caging the Fighting Fool with a lion and dumped the cage into the sea. Funnyman supposedly dies and is placed in a coffin, and when Doc Gimmick arrives to view the body, Funnyman suddenly springs to life and nabs the villain.

Synopsis: In order to disrupt Sgt. Harrigan's testimonial dinner for 20 years of service, Slippery Slim digs his way out of prison and makes his way to the event, only to battle with Funnyman. During the melee, Slim pockets Harrigan's silver loving cup, but the Grinning Goof overtakes the villain, recovers the cup and vanquishes Slim. Harrigan, however, laments that, once again, Funnyman has stolen the spotlight and his glory.
