Synopsis: |
Linda isn’t “very bright” and feels out of place in her own family, since her parents are both wealthy lawyers who enjoy intellectual and highbrow topics. Linda is courted by brilliant young lawyer Don, but prefers the company of gas station owner Hal. Don proposes marriage but Linda says she’d “only drag you down in your work,” her beauty won’t last forever, and she knows Don doesn’t respect her. Linda tells her mother “all I want to do is cook and sew and clean house and bring up children” and she wants to marry Hal. Her parents understand, and Lucy and Hal will be happy. |
