I have a system for determining approximately when Golden Age comic book characters go out of copyright: two years ago, when we still had our old IBM computer and SONY television set, I learned that the statute of limitations in existence at the time was twenty-seven years. So now I simply add twenty-seven years to the date of the first issue. In this case, the comic would have gone out of copyright in nineteen seventy-nine. |

At the time RACKET SQUAD was being published, gambling was still illegal, but now it has largely been legalized (even though cheaters are still penalized). |

Several things have occurred to me as I reread this issue: first, that shoplifting is not a racket, and second, that the Guatemala Sweepstakes racket has indeed been revived. |
