Party boss McCracken urges Marcia to convince Mark to run for district attorney; Mark agrees, planning to clean up corruption. Marcia learns her father and the Independents practiced “dishonest...crooked politics!” but agrees to go along. Mark refuses to follow the Party line; he breaks up with Marcia and runs for mayor instead on a reform ticket. Marcia supports him by writing exposé articles. Mark wins and reunites with Marcia. |
