Synopsis:	Connie wants her father to defeat James for a judgeship. She decides to ruin James’s sterling reputation and arranges for a photo to be taken of them kissing. When the scandal hits the newspapers, Connie discovers she really loves James, who has fled to his mountain cabin. Connie goes there with Emily, who loves James, and her father’s campaign manager Jack. Connie gives up James to atone for her actions, and leaves with Jack, who loves her.

Jon and Flame track down Ebony and rescue the horse from Eric, who is whipping it. Flame knows Jon is the man for her.

Writer Wayne shows up but Phyllis refuses to let him write an article about her. Wayne and Phyllis fall in love, but she has a secret: Mrs. Bates, the wife of her former boss, accused her of having an affair with her husband. Phyllis fled from the scandal. Wayne brings the lawyer and Mrs. Bates to the diner; they don’t even remember Phyllis, so she doesn’t have to run away anymore. Phyllis and Wayne will wed.

Synopsis:	Mona goes to a mountain cabin to work on her latest love novel. She thinks Lance is a hobo and agrees to give him a meal; afterwards, he says he doesn’t think much of her work. He kisses her and she slaps him, and he says she has “ all the wrong reactions.” They fall in love but Mona’s press agent arrives and says it would be bad publicity if she married a hobo. The arrival of another man clears it up: Lance is a famous artist, not a hobo. Mona says “I don’t care what you are!” They will be wed.
