He is suspicious at first, then realizes Betty is sincere, and they fall in love.

April resumes her social life and tries to be the “life of the party” but can’t forget Bill. Injured while on vacation, April is hospitalized and discovers Bill is there as well; his legs were crushed in an accident and he broke up with April to spare her. They are reunited and with April’s help, Bill is able to walk again.

However, Sally reads a Lincoln quote—-“The best way out of a bad promise is to break it!”—-and she decides to write to Bob. However, before she can mail her letter, she receives a recording from Bob in which he announces that he’s found someone else. Terry and Sally can now be together.

Synopsis: Vic returns to her hometown after working as a model in New York. Her mother and younger sister Jan run a boardinghouse, and Vic meets handsome tenant Guy. Guy plans to open a dress store and offers Jan a job as his assistant and model. Jan tells Vic she loves Guy, so Vic backs off from him, personally and professionally. However, Vic and Guy finally admit their love for each other, and Jan’s "helpless little sister" act is exposed.
