Harvey School Bus Public Safety package -”Pioneer Pointers”. Public Service material from the 1950s or early 1960s. This file is a combination of Narfstar's Pioneer's Pointers booklet scans (16 pgs) and my upload of the Pioneer's Pointers Public Safety poster (11pgs).
The combined file contains two full length scans of the poster, individual scans of bus safety tips and 4 pages of games and puzzles . The second jpg is the larger scan of the poster, approximately 14 inches (36 cm) X 22 inches (56 cm) in size and featuring a Daniel Boone type character providing safety tips for school bus riders. The poster would be used by the teachers in the classroom and the booklet was a give-away for the pupils.
The wording for the poster and booklet are the same with some variation in the art layouts. The two items appear to be part of a public safety package produced by Harvey Publications for the Superior Coach Corporation ( a major school bus manufacture). The artwork may be by Lee Elias, the expressions of the kids are reminiscence of Lee's "Beyond Mars" characters.
