Synopsis: Assorted illustrated Western facts. It is safer to "heel a calf" - rope it around it's hind legs, rather than around it's neck. Ornamental disks on chaps are "conchas" - there are decorative and hide where leather has been tied. A "serape" is a Native Mexican blanket of multiple colors. "Gun fanning" - holding down the trigger after the first shot and striking the palm of the hand against the gun's hammer.
