On a class geology trip to the wilderness, Cynthia’s temper causes Ken to fall off a cliff, and Tommy rescues him. Ken tells Tommy he loves her, this time for real.

Naomi meets fellow sculptor Eric and they fall in love, but he doesn’t know she’s deaf and she doesn’t hear him propose marriage or tell her that Rodney’s a cheat. Eric abducts Naomi and forces her to read Rodney’s lips when he confesses. Naomi and Eric reconcile.
