Apologies to anyone who downloaded this before I could add the missing last page from the first story.
It's now in the Fixed file here.

Continuing the great work of modanim with St.John's version of The Black Dwarf.
Here they called him the Blue Monk and he had FIVE more adventures in-

Crime Reporter #1-3 (#1+2 have NOT been scanned yet),
Northwest Mounties #4 (or Approved #12),
Western Bandit Trails #1

Sadly only three of them have been scanned.

Comment: So what's the deal with this guy? He's kinda cool... but two different publishers and a unique style? Was he indeed a weird version of the Spider? Who was his creator? You're right, this is one of the most memorable characters from my early collecting days back in the '60s in IW's. Once you read him, you never forget.

Comment: I have no idea who might have created the character. Of all the hero-pulp characters his method of operation most closely resembles those of Captain Satan. The Black Dwarf came from the Harry A. Chesler comics shop. When the Chesler titles folded Ol' Harry placed unpublished stories and reprints with whoever would pay. St. John was only one such company and they even reprinted some of the reprints. In at least one case IW/Super Comics ran unpublished Chesler material.
