Just a quick note: I have it on good authority that a c2c rescan of #13 will be available soon. :)
Also, my scans for #16 include blurry (but readable) microfiche scans of the text story. Do you want me to upload that version?

Thanks to Snard and Flatterman we've gotten some much needed fills just lately. So here's an update of what's still missing of Phantom Lady stories from her Fox era:

Wow are we close to complete! If anyone has PL16 or 23 please consider scanning those missing pages.
My thanks to all who've contributed to this.

Hi Snard,
Sounds great. Please do upload your version of PL16.
Thanks!
:)
-
I was going to say that I had fiche scans of the text pages for #16, but I see Snard beat me to it. OTOH, the scan I have of #15 is still missing three pages (one included ad is clearly from the IW reprint) and the one on site says it is incomplete. Are pages still needed for that one?
-
Thanks for pointing out PL15 is still two pages short.
I've corrected my original post here.
All in all, we are getting so very close to the complete run, something I never expected to see when Nigel and I release the first volume of the PL Archives. :)
-
It's been uploaded.
Hi Snard,
Sounds great. Please do upload your version of PL16.
Thanks!
:)

Don't forget, we also have all the All-Tops; mostly thanks to Archiver_USA if I recall correctly off the top of my head.
-
I've got #23, but I need to see if it's in good enough shape that I can scan the IFC. I have a backlog of GCD work to do that has prevented me from doing much scanning, but I'll see what I can do here.
-
Please do FC!
It would be much appreciated.
:)
-
And please do not forget that Wham #2
-
If only I could dig far enough out of the GCD tech work hole... I'll try to find some time. I have about 10 or so comics that last I checked weren't here. Although the JVJ project may fill some of those in before I get to them as I suspect he has a lot of them.
-
Even if you can only do the one page, it would be greatly appreciated. That IFC on 23 is the only Fox Phantom Lady story page we don't have in some form at this point. Thanks in advance!
-
Looks like I should be able to scan it- I think the cover's already detached on my copy so no worries about trying to keep it on :-) I'll try to dig the scanner out this weekend- my new housemate just moved in today and the scanner is behind a sofa and two tables and under a pile of comics (well, the pile of comics is my fault!) If I have time should I re-scan the whole issue or is the current interior sufficient? Not sure how accurate those IW reprints were. Or were they rebindings?

Not sure how accurate those IW reprints were. Or were they rebindings?
And by "accurate" I mean stuff like color and ads and whatnot, I know they are at least actual reprints and not reproductions :-)
-
The IW reprints were normally shot from the original plates; ads are different and there are sometimes other minor changes. A scan of the whole original book would definitely be preferable to my scan of the reprint. But whatever you're willing to do is great.
-
Thanks FC.
And while JVJ may have a TON of books he's depending on others to scan them. If you were able to scan something that means one less book that has to be packaged and sent to someone else saving the turnaround time and expenses for sending, etc.
We appreciate anything you can manage for scans.
:)

OK, after unearthing my scanner and wrestling with drivers for my new laptop (well, new since I last scanned anything), I've got a cover-to-cover scan of Phantom Lady #23 (300 DPI .tiff files, zipped into an archive). I'm one who doesn't consider a scan "done" until it's c2c- missing indicia and statements of ownership make me sad, and there's an SOO on the last page of this issue- not sure that made it into the IW reprint :-)
These are *raw* scans- I flipped the alternate pages so they're all right-side-up, but otherwise did no rotating, cropping, cleaning, etc. I'm afraid I just have too many coding obligations at the GCD to spend time on that, especially given that I have no experience or particular skill at doing such things. That said, if any page is too badly scanned *please* contact me and I'll rescan it.
Last time I did this (with Wham Comics #1 and Funny Pages v4#1), narfstar found some folks who could do the post-processing, so I'm hoping that can be done again. So where should I put this (and future) raw scans? Should I follow the normal upload procedure or would y'all rather have them go through some alternate channel? Sorry I can't manage to post-process these as I know it just makes more work for other folks, but it's the best balance I can strike, I think. We're desperately short on coders at the GCD.

And please do not forget that Wham #2
I've scanned that as well, now :-)
Also, Junior #9 (1st issue) from Fox- 100% early Al Feldstein
c2c scans for both

Hi Fox,
I'll send you a Private Message here to figure out an exchange.
I'll happy do the edits for you if wanted or perhaps Builder-Boy would like to do them?

Update-
Snard will be doing the edits on fox_centaur's books once we have the raw scans.

Anything new going on with Phantom Lady???

Anything new going on with Phantom Lady???
To the best of my knowledge, all Phantom Lady books are scanned. Which ones are you missing?
-
If B is asking about the status of the Phantom Lady Archives (super, super delayed), it is back on track and scheduled to be released later this year. Several things have moved forward and with much help from several scanners we should have a very nice looking (Large!) volume 2. :)
Stay tuned!

-
The second PL volume will be up in time for Christmas gang.
Thanks to everyone involved and getting the needed Fox issues included in the collection!
Stay tuned!
-
A slight delay but the PL Archives v1 - Final Update as well as PL Archives v2 - Fox Years will both be going live in the next 48hrs!
Stay tuned!

And it's now been up a couple days.
Another massive thanks to everyone who helped with it, especially JVJ, Ken Quattro, Archiver_USA and OtherEric without whom the second volume has no chance of being completed.
-
Would it not be cool to have both Phantom Lady archives printed as is as two hard cover books?
One with all the Quality material and one with all the Fox material.
I am going to be looking making a set of these for my book shelf.
Any ideas or comments?
B.

I'm happy to know you enjoy them enough to consider it B. It certainly was a massive job.
Oh I bet it would look amazing though I never designed anything for the spine of any printing
I imagine it wouldn't come cheap with so many pages!
And I hope you add your own colour corrected PL17 pages into it.
I'm planning to do a new edit on PL22 in the near future so you might want to hold off and add those pages as well. Nothing as complicated as the fix I did on PL19 or what you did on 17 (though 22 is another horrible printing job.)
If you do get them please take a picture of the two, it would be icing on the cake for me.

The Fox years along are about 360 pages. The cheapest that I could get them printed is about 20¢ per two sided 8-1/2x 11 sheet.
Pretty darned expensive.
Has anybody ever looked at the ka-blam comic printing site? You could have all the PL books printed as nice new comics then you could sew them into signatures and makeyourself a pretty nice hard cover archive!!!
It looks like the charge about $2.29 per book.
