What is the best way to ship a large amount of comics?
« on: January 03, 2019, 11:36:08 AM »
As the title says, I am about to ship (from Oregon to Iowa). I'm sending these as a gift to my dad. I obviously want them to arrive safe but don't want to spend an arm and a leg. They're mostly just comic books from this past year, no real collector's items.

Is there are preferred approach to preparing these boxes/books? (eg. stuffing their extra space)

I'm guessing I should put the boxes in another box for shipping. Should I place these boxes in separate boxes, or is it better to try and ship them together in a single box?

Any companies/services you could recommend for the journey?

Hi TS,
While the JVJ Project was running they were using USPS flat rate boxes.  You can see them in the second picture of this topic:

I was not part of the scanning side of the project so I can't tell you what kind of packing they used but we did manage to send and scan several thousand comics for DCM this way.

Good luck,
