Well when you say superhero you have a wealth of choices and you should try out several characters from different companies. For inspirational you can read New Heroic or Real Fact.

Hi CS,
If you want to work from black and white originals try the 'Canadian' or 'UK/Australian and NZ Comics' sections.  They printed in black and white.
